Amazon Kindle gets McGraw-Hill college material

Amazon and McGraw-Hill Education announced on Thursday that they have teamed up to deliver McGraw-Hill's library of higher education content. To date, McGraw-Hill's 3,000 professional business, medical and technical titles are available on the e-book readers. The new arrangement will add more than 100 textbooks and other titles covering most common arts, math and science fields.
The expansion is pitched as lightening the load of students as well as enabling notes and highlights in the e-books themselves.
The titles will first become available in the fall as part of on-campus trial programs, where Amazon will distribute loaner Kindle DX devices to students that come with access to the books. Other book publishers like Pearson and Wiley have already agreed to similar textbook plans for the coming school year.
