Apple Event Sept 7 Rumor

Apple's by now yearly music event is tipped for exactly one week into September, multiple sources have claimed on Thursday. Those in the music industry say Apple has told them to expect an event for the week of September 7th, or the same week as the Labor Day holiday. As this reportedly includes label executives, All Things D infers a likely iTunes focus that could include the rumored Cocktail format for full albums.

The event would reinforce an increasingly regular pattern of Apple holding a yearly music-related event shortly after Labor Day, which marks the unofficial start of holiday shopping. Usually, these include significant revisions to iPods and iTunes as well as minor iPhone software updates.

This year, it's popularly rumored that Apple will introduce camera-equipped iPod nano and touch units, with the latter getting video recording support. Other rumors have put the long talked about tablet arriving in September, though these conflict with reports of an early 2010 release.

It's also suspected that any September event would mark the first opportunity for Steve Jobs to present a keynote since his return to work in late June.

    Ha!

    Buh Bye Zune!

A week before the Zune release - obviously, Apple waited until MS committed to the Zune release dates, and will once again release products that will be priced lower, and deliver more, leaving MS scrambling.

History - it's a wonderful thing that MS doesn't seem to learn from.

So you're saying that Apple considers the Zune to be an actual threat and competition?

So much so that they feel they need to wait for MS to make an announcement so they can plan around it to try to steal MS's thunder?

Wow, most people would have thought MS would be doing that to Apple.
