Canon 7D due Sept. 1st?

A previous rumor that had Canon's future EOS-7D DSLR camera releasing on September 1st is now being corroborated by a recent German Kamera & Bild report, which maintains Canon has invited press to an event on September 1st but without adding any more details. It is expected full specs of the new 7D will be announced at the press conference. Thus far, observers are still uncertain as to whether it would use a full-frame sensor or else a crop-frame sensor like the EOS-50D.

If the latter holds true, the 7D would be placed head-to-head with Nikon's D300s, which uses a similar non full-frame sensor but better auto focus than the 50D. The leaked image of the top panel of the 7D shows that the camera lacks scene mode buttons of the 5D Mark II but adds a M. Fn button next to the shutter release.

However, the early rumors suggest the 7D will include the 5D Mark II's 12.1-megapixel full-frame sensor along with a 3-inch OLED display. Also, 3.9fps shooting is expected, and the same 1080p HD video recording capability. Some have suggested prices will be set at $2,700 for the body alone, though this would be unusual as it matches the 5D Mark II's price.

    ah... try again...

The D300S is released on the 29th! It has nothing to do with Apple!

So much inaccurate information is so little space.

"the top panel of the 7D shows that the camera lacks scene mode buttons of the 5D Mark II"

The 5DII doesn't have scene modes, only the creative zone modes. And it's a dial, not buttons.

"rumors suggest the 7D will include the 5D Mark II's 12.1-megapixel full-frame sensor"

The 5DII has a 21 megapixel sensor, not 12. The previous generation 5D had the 12 MP sensor.

If you can't even get the information about existing cameras right, I don't give much weight to your rumors about new cameras!
