gScreen dual-screen laptop

gScreen has previewed its upcoming Spacebook notebooks featuring dual 15.4-inch displays, according to Gizmodo. The device integrates two full-size screens that sit side-by-side when needed, while users can also slide the displays together to view a single screen. The chassis is also built around a 15.4-inch design, but with significantly more bulk necessitated by the displays and sliding mechanism.

The notebooks will integrate Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 4GB of RAM and NVIDIA's discrete GF900M GT graphics components. Customers will have a choice between several capacities of 7,200 rpm HDD, while battery options should include 6- and 9-cell variants.

gScreen expects to ship the first run by December through Amazon.com and other retailers. The Alaska-based company is also working on 13-, 16, and 17-inch units. Pricing is still unknown, although gScreen founder Gordon Stewart hopes to keep the cost under $3,000.
