Hitachi HDTVs announced

Hitachi has announced several new plasma and LCD televisions to be released in the coming months, the P-XP035 Series and the L-XP035 Series. Both televisions feature a 500GB internal HDD, an iVDR slot and DLNA support, while an light sensor is used to automatically adjust the display brightness to suit the ambient lighting. The devices support 1080p video signals which can be recorded directly onto the internal hard drive.

The P-series televisions integrate a plasma panel and boast dynamic contrast ratios of up to 40,000:1. The L-series LCD displays offer many of the same features, but with 120Hz frame-rate interpolation and 500cd/mē brightness.

The P-XP035 will be available in Japan on September 10th in 42-, 46-, and 50-inch models. The PDP series televisions will cost between $3,075 and $4,130. The L-XP035 LCDs will be available with 37- or 42-inch screen sizes and prices ranging between $2,540 and $3,075, while shipping is slated for October.
