InFocus brings back ScreenPlay projector series

InFocus has revived its ScreenPlay projector lineup with the SP8602, which offers native 1080p resolution and is meant for use in home theater installations. The SP8602 uses Texas Instruments' DLP DarkChip technology with BrilliantColor, Pixelworks' DNX 10-bit video processor, and InFocus' proprietary 120Hz motion engine. It's also said to have a 30,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,300 lumens of brightness.

To center images from off-center installations, there is a +5 percent or -30 percent vertical lens shift range or up to +15 to -15 percent vertical lens shift, with reproduction of sharp images up to 300 inches across. Ceiling mounting is available, with automatic detection that will flip the image automatically.

The SP8602 can be outfitted with various skins to match a home theater setup's color, including matte or glossy black, matte white, walnut or just primer for any color the end user wishes. Connections include two HDMI 1.3 ports, three components, one S-video, one composite and one 4-pin mini-DIN.

The InFocus ScreenPlay 8602 will be available in late October, though no pricing has been announced.
