Motorola Android phone due for Orange UK
A version of the recently introduced Motorola Cliq smartphone, the maker's first Android device, got release dates for the European market thanks to a Friday report. In Europe, the device will be known as the Dext, with UK provider Orange getting the device in early October. While prices were not set, pre-orders will begin on September 22nd.
Motorola stated that the Dext will also come to Latin America and the rest of Europe, but has not given a release date. In the US, the Cliq is expected to reach T-Mobile sometime before year's end.
Both the Cliq and the Dext will sport a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with 480x360 resolution, along with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It will have a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with video capture capability and 3G network support, along with a custom Android interface known as MOTOBLUR that centers on social networking.
