Samsung Instinct HD confirmed in ad

Sprint today inadvertently confirmed its imminent launch plans for the Samsung Instinct HD through a promo given to its Premier customers. Originally known as the S50, the phone is listed as "coming soon" in the segment seen by BGR and has had some of its rumored features confirmed, including its 5-megapixel camera, improved web browser and easier text messaging.

In the past, it's also been rumored that the touchscreen phone would get Wi-Fi and that the "HD" would come from its ability to record and play high-resolution video, although the phone itself wouldn't have an HD-resolution display. Based on these and the new images, the Instinct HD will have just a modified version of the proprietary Instinct OS instead of a smartphone OS, like the Android-based Instinct Q.

On top of this leak, Electronista has heard through people familiar with the matter that the Samsung phone is tentatively due to ship on September 27th. A Sunday launch is consistent with Sprint's habit of releasing phones on the last day of the weekend. It should also mean an official announcement in less than two weeks and thus remain consistent with the promises of a close release.
