Roadmap shows Moto Cliq on T-Mobile in October

Motorola Cliq due at T-Mobile in October?

Motorola's first Android-powered phone, the recently introduced Cliq, will arrive at wireless provider T-Mobile, according to a recent BGR report. A leaked PowerPoint slide from the carrier shows a timeline for the device, among others, though the source says a newer slide does actually show October, and not November, as indicated in the outdated screen capture. Another indication that the roadmap is old is use of a different handset's image as a stand-in for the Cliq.

The Cliq will support T-Mobile's 1,700MHz 3G network and otherwise sport a 5-megapixel camera with video capture, GPS and Wi-Fi. It has a 3.1-inch, 480x360 touchscreen and is expected to ship with Android 2.0, with possible support for multi touch inputs. Users' information is saved online and can be retrieved on another Cliq even if the original is lost.

The exact date for the launch at T-Mobile is unkown, but the device is expected to ship in mid-October and is rumored to be free on contract, or $400 by itself.

    release date and multi-touch clarification

Rumor is that the Cliq can be pre-ordered from T-Mobile on October 19th but will actually be released in November: http://www.tmonews.com/2009/09/leaning-toward-an-october-19th-cliq-pre-order/

    As for multi-touch support: http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/10517.html

In that posting they state that a Motorola representative says that the phone does NOT support Multi-touch at this point in time, but went on to hint that a future Android update to 2.0 may facilitate this.

I read elsewhere that a November release of the Cliq would mean that it would actually ship with the 2.0 version of Android.
