DVD burner supports LightScribe, 8x burn

LaCie has introduced its latest computer accessory, a portable DVD burner designed by Sam Hecht. The device is USB powered, eliminating the need for an AC adapter. A variety of DVD and CD formats are supported, with DVD burn speeds up to 8x and CD burn speeds up to 24x. The drive weighs under a pound and measures less than an inch tall.

The portable DVD burner can be purchased directly from LaCie, with the Mac version priced at $120 and the Windows variant available for $90. Bundled software includes Toast 9 Basic for Mac systems, or Creator Suite 10 with LightScribe for Windows. The package also includes a power-sharing cable and a USB 2.0 cable.
