MS hiring for Win Mo 7 social platform
Microsoft plans to make social networking a major component of Windows Mobile 7, the company revealed today through a new job listing. The post demands a Senior Program Manager for a "Mobile Social Platform" that, in Microsoft's early view, would show multiple social networks' news feeds in a single location. Alternately, it might hook data from those networks into other apps: an incoming call could show status updates from the contact.
It's not clear whether Microsoft expects the feature to be a part of Windows Mobile 7 when it ships. In the past, Microsoft has announced Windows Mobile updates early in a given year and shipped it in the second half. Both timeframes would give the new executive less than a year to implement the social platform for launch. [via MobileTechWorld]
