XPERIA X3 due out in January?

Sony Ericsson's first Android-powered handset will be released in January, according to unofficial sources. The device is expected to launch just a season after the XPERIA X2 and should receive the XPERIA X3 badge despite running the Google platform. Both the X1 and X2 have run Windows Mobile.

As for the expected specs for the XPERIA X3, an earlier report suggests the phone will have quad-band GSM network support and dual-band HSPA 3G compatibility, with speeds reaching 10Mbps on networks that support it. Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi and assisted GPS are also expected. The touchscreen should be 4 inches in size with an 800x480 resolution, and an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and image stabilization is expected.
