RAmos 1080p Android tablet debut due next week?

Chinese portable multimedia player maker RAmos will soon release an Android-powered mobile Internet device that will have the capability of playing back 1080p high-definition videos, according to a recent Pocketables report. The official release is expected to come at a press event on Friday, September 25th, with the device based largely on, if not simply a rebadged version of, the Rockchip Android-powered MID concept spotted last month.

The device will sport an ARM chip and is said to be capable of playing back 1080p MKV (H.264/VC-1), AVI (XviD/DivX), and other video formats with 30-40Mbps bitrates. Visually, the Rockchip concept and the Ramos device look identical, but the former was said to use the Rockchip RK2808 chipset, which is said to have support only for 720p videos. It is therefore believed the RAmos device will have a different graphics chipset.
