Samsung A600 home theater projector

Samsung recently announced the addition of the A600 DLP home theater projector, which can throw 1080p resolution videos on to any surface. With some features shared with the larger and more expensive A800 and A900, the A600 has selectable color settings for HDTV, SMPTE-C and EBU broadcast color standards. Its brightness is rated at 1,000 lumens, while the contrast ratio is fixed at 3,000:1.

It fully supports 24FPS video without having to use pulldown conversion, while the short 1.99 throw ratio lets users place it closer to the screen or wall. Connections include two HDMI inputs, along with one each of component, composite, S-video and VGA for video. Ethernet networking is similarly onboard.

While no ship dates have been announced, the A600 is expected to cost $1,795 when it does become available.
