RSS reader updated with new article view

NewsGator has released NetNewsWire 2.0, the latest version of its mobile RSS reader for the iPhone or iPod touch. The update adds several new features including Google Reader sync, with support for transferring starred items. The app also integrates Twitter and Instapaper services for sharing content or saving items for later reading.

A new Latest News view provides a long list of all articles posted within the last 24 hours, while the standard article view has been improved for better handling of images and other content. Users can also navigate through the news list with new up and down arrows.

The display now provides additional information such as the title and date of most recent items on the Feeds screen, along with excerpts and dates on the news item lists. Users can also send articles using e-mail without leaving the app interface.

NetNewsWire 2.0 is available from the App Store for $2 until October. The company also offers an ad-supported free version.
