Motorola Cliq to ship with preloaded apps

The upcoming Android-powered Motorola Cliq handset will ship with many applications preloaded onto it, as per a specs page for the device on Motorola's website. Among the apps are a Digg application, Telenav Navigator for turn-by-turn navigation info, and Mint, a finance management program.

There will also be an application devoted to Yahoo Mail, presumably allowing users to sync their Yahoo mail accounts. Six new apps dubbed Lifestyle include shortcuts to online leisure and review websites, including AskMen, Gawker, Gizmodo, IGN, Life Hacker and Rotten Tomatoes.

A range of Google services, including Gmail, Calendar, Talk and Maps with Street View are preloaded, along with access to Amazon's MP3 store, LastFM, Photobucket, Picasa and Shazamid. Social networking sites that include Facebook, Twitter and MySpace will also be supported via applications.

A corresponding applications page for the Motorola Dext reveals slightly different preloaded content, including the lack of Digg, Telenav and Mint.

The Cliq is expected to ship to T-Mobile stores on October 19th, while the Dext has gone up on pre-sale at UK's Orange two days ago.
