Vertu outs $7,000 Ayxta handset

Maker of ultra exclusive handsets, Vertu, has recently added a new handset model to its Constellation lineup, the Ayxta. The flip phone features Vertu's Concierge service, with a shortcut button that connects users to an agent who will assist callers with any requests or questions they have. There is also Vertu Select, or an online service that provides travelers with "lifestyle information," which includes a listing of the trendiest bars, restaurants, exhibitions, shopping, clubs and more in a given city, anywhere in the world.

More traditional hardware specs include a microSD memory card slot and included 8GB card, while internal storage space is unspecified. There is 3G data network support, and users can sync to Macs or PCs through its microUSB connection. There is also a 3-megapixel camera with twin LED flash.

The frame is stainless steel, while details are done aluminum and fine leather. The screen is sapphire crystal. Users can choose from a number of ringtones recorded by Zero 7 exclusively for the Ayxta.

Pricing for the Ayxta ranges from the equivalent of $7,200 to $9,550 in Europe, depending on the materials used to garnish it. [via T3]
