NEC adds entry-level AccuSync desktop monitors
NEC on Thursday added three new desktop monitors to its AccuSync lineup. All are entry level and environmentally-friendly, and include the 19-inch AS191, 19-inch widescreen AS191WM and 22-inch widescreen AS221WM. Compared to the models they replace, they use up nearly 50 percent less power, while an ECO Mode in the widescreen models lets users choose from two energy saver settings.
Specs shared by the three include VGA and DVI connections, 250cd/m2 brightness levels and a 5ms pixel response time. The AS191 has a 900:1 contrast ratio, with the other two rated at 1,000:1. All three can tilt, but only the two widescreen models have integrated speakers and a headphone jack. Native resolution for the 19-inch model is 1280x1024, while the widescreen 19- and 22-inch versions are capable of 1440x900 and 1680x1050, respectively.
The AS221WM will be available first, later this month, priced at $249. The AS191 and AS191WM will ship in November and will be priced at $199 and $189 respectively.
