General Imaging out underwater G3WP digicam

General Imaging has recently added its first waterproof point-and-shoot digital camera to its lineup, the G3WP. It sports a 12.2-megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom and a 4.5x digital zoom. Users can take photos safely at depths of up to nearly 10 feet thanks to its case, with shots framed on a 2.7-inch LCD screen. The camera has 116MB of built-in memory, but supports SDHC cards up to 8GB in capacity.

PictBridge is supported for direct-to-printer output, and users get a number of shooting modes for capturing particular events. There is also face, smile and blink detection features, while light sensitivity varies from ISO 64 to 3200. There is also image stabilization and automatic red eye reduction. The G3WP will be available in blue, grey and red when it arrives in mid-October, priced at $200. [via T3]
