Eyeball 2.0 webcam with built-in microphone

Blue Microphone has released the Eyeball 2.0, its upgrade to the original camera and microphone combo. The 2-megapixel upgrade is capable of broadcasting video at a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 at 30 frames per second. Like the original reviewed here, it has a retractable lens which can be stored into the microphone unit and automatically turns off to help ensure privacy. The device is designed to mount onto any display or notebook using its integrated adapter.

The USB add-on attaches to any Mac or PC and has a built-in case and stand hybrid for travel as well as perching the camera on the desktop. Eyeball 2.0 is currently available for $80 and should be available at Apple retail stores, Fry's and (soon) from Amazon.

Additionally, the company has also released two new designs for its wired condenser microphone Snowball. The device now comes in brushed aluminum or glossy black, and can be purchased for $100.
