Epson outs Presenter projector, intros three
Epson on Tuesday announced that its PowerLite Presenter projector is now shipping. At the same time, Epson introduced the EX31, EX51 and EX71 multimedia projectors for small businesses, which replace the outgoing EX30, EX50 and EX70 projectors. Compared to their predecessors, the new projectors are nearly a third smaller and a fifth lighter, while increasing brightness levels to 2,500 lumens.
The 3LCD PowerLite Presenter sports a built-in DVD player, two 10W speakers, a microphone input and a closed captioning feature. A USB connection lets users play content from connected computers or thumb drives. Another connection includes an HDMI input. Native resolution is fixed at 1366x768.
The three new EX projectors have the same USB plug n play connectivity as the PowerLite Presenter. The EX31 has an 800x600 resolution and basic video connections; the EX51 steps this up to 1024x768 and adds an HDMI port, while the EX71 has a 1366x768 resolution.
The PowerLite Presenter is now available, priced at $899. The EX31 will cost $549, the EX51 will reach $649 and the EX71 should be priced at $749.
