T-Mobile may have game changer news

US carrier T-Mobile is preparing its staff for a major, mysterious update that could have an impact on other carriers, a rumor implies tonight. A development known as "Project Black" has received few details, as those attached to it have signed non-disclosure agreements, but it will supposedly be significant enough to move T-Mobile up in US market share from its usual fourth place. T-Mobile staff would be trained on it starting Thursday.

No previous clues are known by Phone Arena to have surfaced about the project and do make the prospects of the feature uncertain. However, it would follow about a month after Sprint's Any Mobile, Anytime plan that offers unlimited calling to any US carrier's cellphone. Providers have in the past often matched each other's prices when one of them instigates a rate cut or expands the reach of a given plan.

The same source also expects a 3G BlackBerry for T-Mobile, likely a Bold 9700 variant previously nicknamed Driftwood, and has both the Nokia N900 as well as one unidentified Nseries smartphone shipping in early 2010.
