Telus' HSPA date, phone lineup leaked

Telus' imminent HSPA 3G network has received what should be a more definitive launch date as well as its initial phone lineup. Multiple reports from insiders in HowardForums have staffers training to be ready on or before November 3rd for the new network. The preparation window would have the HSPA deploy at its earliest opportunity and may give a specific timeframe for the announced November iPhone launch on the Canadian network.

These sources and others have also provided more details about the launch lineup and indicate that the HTC Hero will come to Telus in its original HSPA-aware form and not the CDMA version it would have had to use before the network expansion.

A second leak today from BGR both corroborates the rumors and also supports previous stories of what Telus was likely to offer. Besides the Apple and HTC handsets, the launch should also involve the BlackBerry Bold 2, the LG Chocolate BL40 seen as early as May, and the Nokia E71. The only device that would take advantage of the full 21Mbps HSPA+ portion of the service, however, would be a Sierra Wireless 306 USB adapter.
