ASUS Eee PC 1201 models get details

Detailed specs of not one but two 12-inch Eee PC notebooks have been revealed recently. One of the new Eee PCs, the 1201N, was first spotted in Asia last month. Now, the unofficial specs for the 1201N and 1201HA are known and they include a 12.1-inch, 1366x768 resolution display. The specs reportedly come from leaked ASUS documents.

The Eee PC 1201N should be the fastest and gets a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU and the NVIDIA Ion graphics platform. It would sport 3GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive, as well as 500GB of online storage; Windows 7 Home Premium will be the OS of choice.

It will still have familiar features like a multi-touch trackpad and a webcam, but HDMI output will be relatively new and is credited to the Ion chipset. The six-cell battery is said to last eight hours. The 1201N will be available in black, blue or red and is estimated to weigh about 3.1lbs.

The Eee PC 1201HA would be the more economic model with a 1.33GHz Intel Atom and Intel's integrated GMA 500 for graphics. Also listed is a reduced 2GB of RAM and a smaller 250GB hard drive, again using Windows 7. The same 500GB of cloud storage is included. The rest of the specs are identical to the Eee PC 1201N except for the HDMI port the Intel video can't handle.

Prices and release dates for the two new Eee PCs remain unknown, though speculation has a launch coinciding with the October 22nd release of Windows 7. [via Liliputing]
