AspireRevo with Ion, Windows 7 now in the US

Acer on Friday announced it will soon offer the small form factor AspireRevo R3610-U9012 nettop PC in the US. First introduced in the summer, the PC is one of the first nettops to feature NVIDIA's Ion platform, which supports NVIDIA's CUDA general purpose computing and can also play back 1080p movies even on an Atom-based system.

The American AspireRevo will also be one of the first anywhere to ship with Windows 7 Home Premium on its 160GB hard drive and get that operating system's better 3D capabilities and overall faster performance on lower-end hardware. Processing power will come from a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom, along with a higher than usual 2GB of RAM.

Thanks to its compact size and a built-in VESA mount, users can install the PC on the back of their monitors for space savings on their desk. There are six USB ports, as well as an HDMI, VGA and eSATA port. A multi-card reader is likewise built in, as is Wi-Fi, and a gigabit Ethernet connection. The system includes a wireless keyboard and mouse along with USB speakers.

The Acer AspireRevo nettop is priced at $330 and should ship on October 22nd, at the same time as Windows 7.
