Atom-based device runs Windows 7

The Hong Kong-based computer maker ii-View has introduced its latest device, the A2 netbook. Like many similar devices, the A2 is based on Intel's 945 chipset and 1.6GHz Atom CPU. The basic configuration integrates a 320GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM, along with components for 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi.

Although the A2 matches many of the same specs as other 10-inch netbooks, it instead utilizes a 12-inch display with 1366x768 resolution. The additional real estate allows for a full-size keyboard, while the overall profile measures 0.88 inches. A built-in camera and microphone, HDMI output and three-hour battery round out the specs.

The A2 is now available for $400 with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed.[via CrunchGear]
