Slew of products said to be launched Tuesday
Daring Fireball blogger John Gruber and "Fake Steve Jobs" blogger Dan Lyons both suggest Apple is ready to launch new products tomorrow. Lyons claims there is "something brewing" for a news announcement tomorrow, although he declined to provide specific details on the products.
"Gruber doesn't know about it, but the people we care about are being briefed in advance," says Lyons. "Stay close to your Mac or iPhone, and have your credit card ready."
In a retort aimed at Fake Steve Jobs, Gruber outlined a list devices that "Apple is set to release tomorrow morning." Most of the products have been pointed to in earlier rumors, such as a Multi-Touch "Magic Mouse" along with redesigned iMacs and plastic MacBooks. Gruber also mentions a Mult-Touch trackpad for desktop Macs, although he qualifies the item as the "I'm-Not-Sure-I-Really-Believe-It-Myself" wildcard rumor.
A revamped Mighty Mouse and Bluetooth keyboard recently surfaced in FCC filings, although the documents lacked comprehensive details on the changes. Sources disagree regarding the possibility of Blu-ray support with the next iMacs. Others suggest the all-in-ones could get a thinner form-factor or a new chipset.
The authenticity of the recent rumors has yet to be confirmed, although Gruber's sources previously gathered accurate information regarding iPhone details.

but I'd still like to see a quad-core iMac only because some of those Windows PCs have them. I don't even know if they're much better than a fast dual-core, but they sound cool and they'd likely run cool. I know it isn't going to happen since most rumors point to faster dual-cores. Most likely a 3.2 GHz iMac. I can live with that if prices remain about the same or drop slightly.
