jetBook Lite debuts at Frankfurt Book Fair
Ectaco has announced its second eBook reader at the Frankfurt Book Fair in New York, labeled jetBook Lite. The portable device weighs 7.5 ounces and features a 5-inch transflective monochrome display manufactured by Toshiba. Internal memory provides just 100MB of storage, while an SD card slot allows for expansion. The eBook reader also supports a variety of different language options such as English, German, Spanish, Russian, and Polish.
Unlike its jetBook predecessor, which used a Lithium-ion Polymer battery to offer up to 20-hours of power, the new Lite version is powered by four regular AA-size batteries for a maximum battery life of 23 hours.
The Ectaco jetBook Lite is said to be available soon for the US market and will be priced at $150. [via Lesen]

Nice...
eReaders should have caught on long ago. I'd rather have something that could do more, but these devices should really be rather useful. I would still prefer a reader that could possibly read to me and one that could play back mp3 files of various kinds for language learning, music, novels, etc.
The AA batteries are a nice touch. I've got plenty of them around and hopefully it could also use rechargeables.
