Zune 4.3 firmware arrives

Microsoft wrapped up the week with a significant firmware update to the Zune HD. The 4.3 patch sets the groundwork for upcoming 3D games and apps while also improving the web experience. Web browsing is now much faster and has the option of forcing it to show desktop websites and a better tap-to-zoom feature.

The update also gives a tangible lift to the keyboard experience, with a wider landscape keyboard, auto-suggestion while typing and automatic capitalization of letters after periods. Other adjustments bring the option of toggling between presets and scanning in the FM radio tuner and embedded links to albums, artists and songs in an artist bio.

Updating should be automatic on the next sync with the Zune client, though Electronista and others have noticed the software failing to apply 4.3. [via WinSuperSite; image via MobileTechWorld]
