Moto Milestone due for Telus in 2010

Telus this morning gave Canadians their own version of the Droid with an adaptation of the Motorola Milestone. Its version will be fundamentally identical to the European Android 2.0 phone with the exception of North America-native HSPA 3G. Most details aren't available, but Telus is announcing its deal early and says it will have an exclusive when the phone arrives at the start of 2010.

The Milestone shares all other hardware features of the Droid, including its 3.7-inch 854x480 touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi and 16GB of pre-supplied memory. As an Android 2.0 phone, it should at least eventually carry Google Maps Navigation for free turn-by-turn GPS as well as the improved browser, camera features and Facebook integration common to the platform. Multi-touch should at least be possible with third-party apps, though as a non-US release the Telus model may support it through built-in software as well.
