Three new candybar Nokia CDMA phones due in China
Nokia said on Wednesday it will soon bring three new CDMA handsets to its market in China. This includes the Nokia 6316s, Nokia 3806 and Nokia 1506. The 6316s is the most advanced device, sporting support for China Telecom's 3G data network, a built-in GPS receiver and media playback with dedicated controls on top of the slider.
There is also a 2.2-inch display with 320x240 resolution, a 2-megapixel camera and Bluetooth 2.1 support. Preloaded apps involve MSN QQ, an e-mail client, web browser and trial apps for mobile navigation and stock quotes. The stainless steel phone is available in black, gold and red.
The Nokia 3806 is a simpler candybar design and gives up 3G data network support but has the same display, camera and Bluetooth support, and adds a memory card slot allowing users to add up to 4GB of storage space. A unique feature is the integrated Health Assistant that provides advice on issues like stress. The 3806 can be had in black, white and gold.
The Nokia 1506 will be the maker's most affordable CDMA handset ever, with entry-level features that include a voice recorder, a handsfree speaker and long battery life. It's available in black and plum.
The Nokia 1506 should ship in China before year's end, while both the 6316s and the 3806 will ship during the first quarter of 2010. Prices have not been announced.
