Walmart offers limited promotion for BB buyers

Walmart said on Wednesday that it will offer buyers of the BlackBerry smartphones it carries a $100 gift card to use in store for whatever they want. This promotion will only last one week, and will start at 8am on November 14th. The BlackBerry handsets will also need to have two-year contracts attached to them from either AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon.

The deal applies to all of the BlackBerry models Walmart carries, including the Curve 8310 on AT&T, the Curve 8330 in red or titanium on Sprint, the 8520 in black, white, or frost on T-Mobile and the Storm on Verizon.

The discounts are likely due to RIM's effort to shore up sales of its existing handsets ahead of the holiday season as they are likely to face stiff competition from Apple's iPhone and Verizon's range of Android phones.

    Blackberry is best but...?

I don't think they sell them with out contracts but if they did the retail price of a blackberry anywhere would be the same.

    No Contract Thank You

If they did sell them without contracts I might consider getting one but as things are I'm not even tempted. I'll stay with my Straight Talk phone and my unlimited everything for $45 per month which is actually a bargain. Verizon's network is great and I get good signal everywhere I go in America.
