Eneloop charger can juice two Motion plus remotes

Sanyo has introduced a new version of its contact-free Eneloop battery and charging system for the Nintendo Wii's remotes with MotionPlus attachments. The system is an improvement over a similar one introduced last year by accommodating both a second controller as well as the new peripherals. It includes two battery packs specially adapted to the cradle and a USB cable that draws power from the console's USB port.

The main advantage of the system involves eliminating the hassle of removing the protective jacket, the battery cover and the traditional batteries or rechargeable ones to plug them in. Also, as there is no plug, the system is safe even for young children to use. It also works with Wii controllers without the Motion Plus attachments thanks to included spacers.

A full charge takes 3 hours and 40 minutes, with battery life expected at 6.5 hours.

In Japan, the Eneloop charger can now be pre-ordered for the equivalent of $80. A mid-December ship date is expected. [via Akihabara]
