GSM version of Palm Pre due at Telcel in Mexico

The Palm Pre in GSM guise is coming to Mexican wireless provider Telcel, the companies announced on Thursday. This will be the second webOS-powered handset that is compatible with GSM networks, after O2's device in the UK and several other countries in Europe. Apart from the different network support, the Pre will be identical to the US-spec device in its features.

These include a 3.1-inch touchscreen with a 320x480 resolution, an integrated GPS sensor, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. There is also a 3-megapixel camera with LED flash, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR with A2DP support and 8GB of built-in memory. An accelerometer and Wi-Fi radio are likewise integrated.

The handset will ship to Telcel on November 27th, though pricing has not been announced.
