Two BlackBerrys and LG Shine dated for AT&T

AT&T loaded up its phone catalog today with one new BlackBerry, pricing and a ship date for a second, and an updated LG designer phone. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 effectively replaces the 8300 series at the carrier and, like the T-Mobile version, has both GPS and Wi-Fi but keeps the price low by shedding 3G and using a simpler 320x240 display as well as a 2-megapixel camera.

While the AT&T version doesn't support Wi-Fi calling, it undercuts the T-Mobile edition in price and will sell for $100 on a contract when it ships on November 22nd.

The company also says that its version of the BlackBerry Bold 9700, reviewed here in T-Mobile guise, should ship on the same day. It too goes without Wi-Fi calling but will cost $199 on contract for a device with 3G, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a crisper 480x360 screen.

Coming onboard at the same time, the LG Shine II updates the stainless steel fashion slider with support for 7.2Mbps 3G and new software that supports multitasking as well as image editing for the 2-megapixel camera. It carries assisted GPS through AT&T's subscription Navigator service as well. Pricing is high, however, and will put the Shine II above smartphones with a $120 price after contract.
