Amazon drops prices of Palm Pixi, Pre

Palm Pixi now at $25, Pre at $80

The recently launched Palm Pixi handset is now selling for just $25 at Amazon, or about $75 less than it did at launch, though it still requires a two-year contract with Sprint. It's not known why the price cut has been made just days after the phone's release.

At the same time, the more functional Palm Pre is being offered for $80 through Amazon when paired with a two-year plan with Sprint, which represents a near halving of the regular $150 price tag after various rebates and savings from Sprint. [via Gizmodo]
