LG X120 netbook gets AT&T 3G, SmartOn interface

The LG X120 netbook introduced early this year will soon be available in US, exclusively at RadioShack, the computer maker announced on Monday. LG's first netbook for the country sports a 10.1-inch LED backlit display with a 1024x576 resolution, Intel's 1.6GHz Atom processor and 1GB of RAM. The 160GB hard drive is preloaded with Windows XP, not Windows 7 Starter, and users can quickly access the web, photos, IM programs and an MP3 player through LG's Linux-based SmartOn interface without waiting for the operating system to boot.

The netbook also launches with built-in 3G modem and service provided by AT&T. It still supports Wi-Fi and has both a 1.3-megapixel camera as well as a 3W stereo speaker system

The X120 will ship in white with blue trim, offered only with a six-cell battery that is said to provide seven hours of battery life. It will be priced at $180 when paired with a two-year AT&T data plan worth $35 or more.

Do you recommend the LG X120 as a laptop replaceme

Do you know if using the wifi on a 3G network will drain the battery life. I am looking for the best Sprint phone and an LG netbook that will also work on the Sprint network. Also do you recommend any type of software I can purchase that I can load on the LG X120 that will block intrusions. I was recently at a conference in Las Vegas. When I returned home, to my dismay someone had hacked into my Drupal website and changed my admin username and password. I had to uninstall and install my Drupal 5.19 installation to make changes to my Drupal site. I would so appreciate if you could recommend a robust software that will block intrusions. Thanks so much for that great review it helped me in my buying decision towards a high quality netbook.
