Nokia N86 8MP hits Rogers with North American 3G

updated 12:40 pm EST, Tue November 24, 2009

Nokia N86 camera phone official in Canada

Rogers this morning claimed the title of first North American carrier to pick up the Nokia N86 8MP. Already on display for a few days, the phone is one of the first more quality-focused camera phones and has a variable aperture and high shutter speed that often aren't included on phones. A flash, dedicated camera controls on the two-way slider and an OLED display help refine the final shot further still.

The Rogers edition supports HSPA-based 3G on North American networks but is otherwise very similar to the European version, which also brings GPS, Wi-Fi and 8GB of internal memory for guaranteed storage. In Canadian guise, the N86 sells for $100 on a three-year contract with a data plan and should be available today in a dark indigo blue.
