Razer Imperator gets adjustable side buttons

Razer on Tuesday introduced its latest gaming mouse, the Imperator. Designed specifically to give comfort to right-handed users, the ergonomic mouse's design is optimized for both palm and fingertip gamers. To this end, the Imperator is the first to sport side buttons that are adjustable and slide on a track to let users find the best position for their thumbs.

Apart from the design, the wired mouse has an integrated 5,600dpi laser sensor for greater accuracy. The sensor enables the mouse to move at up to 200 inches per second with 50G acceleration, along with 1,000Hz sampling and a 1ms response time. Sensitivity can be adjusted at any time. Razer's Synapse onboard memory is integrated, while the seven buttons are programmable to suit a gamer's needs.

The Razer Imperator will ship in the US late in December, priced at $80, and works with both Mac OS X and Windows PCs.

right-handed gamers?

wait, huh? Aren't most mice designed for right-handed gamers? Not sure why it's notable that this one is specifically designed for them. If anything, aren't almost all ergonomically designed mice for right-handed users, since they inherently aren't really usable by a left handed gamer?

Huh?

I agree, isn't the right-handed angle of this more of a dog bites man story?

About time!

It sure is good to see this under-served market being finally attended to. For too long us right-handed users have had to deal with the discrimination from the politically correct and left-leaning manufacturers.

Next up, new LCD monitors geared toward the sighted!

So, this is news?

Right-handedness is a pretty strange angle to play up.

Black? Blue lights? 7 buttons?
The logo is more interesting than the mouse.
