Amazon now offering Eee PC 1201N for preorder

The first Eee PC from ASUS to include the NVIDIA Ion platform, the 1201N, is now available for pre-order at online retailer Amazon. The 12.1-inch netbook sports a dual-core, 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, and has 2GB of RAM. Thanks to the Ion platform, the netbook can play HD videos.

The 250GB hard drive will be preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium, and buyers will also get 500GB of web-based storage from ASUS. The netbook has Bluetooth support, a Wi-Fi module and a 0.3-megapixel webcam. The device ships with a sleeve case and weighs a light 3.21lbs.

As reported earlier, the Eee PC 1201N is priced at $500 and is said to ship on January 15th.
