WebStation Android tablet now out for pre-order

Camangi is now offering its Android-powered tablet, the WebStation, for pre-order in Taiwan, the US and Japan. The device has a 7-inch glass touchscreen with a 800x480 resolution, while a 624MHz Marvell PXA303 CPU powers Android 1.5. There is also built-in Wi-Fi, as well as a GPS sensor.

The WebStation weighs less than a pound, and also packs a 3.5mm stereo headset jack and two 1W speakers. There is no onboard storage space, but an 8GB microSDHC memory card is included. A USB port will allow 3G data network access with certain USB dongles offered by service providers. The 4,000mAh battery is said to last for up to five hours when browsing the web or watching movies.

Supported video formats are restricted to 3GP and MP4, while it recognizes photos in JPG, GIF, PNG and BMP formats. Users can also listen to 3GP, MP3, MP4, OGG, MID and WAV audio, or read EPUB and TXT e-books.

Camangi says it will ship the device, which is in limited stock, by the end of the year, provided orders are placed by December 16th. The WebStation costs $399 or $389 with an early-bird coupon, for which buyers had to register earlier in the year. This includes shipping. For now, the device is only available in white, though black and pink will become available soon. [via Pocketables]
