ODRIOD now available to international developers

The ODROID gaming console is now shipping in a worldwide developer edition. The device has a touchscreen and an HDMI output and can indeed support HD resolutions on TV sets, as seen in the video, below. The Korean device uses an 833MHz Samsung ARM Cortex processor and 512MB of RAM. There is also an accelerometer for certain motion-control games.

In the demo video, the ODROID is playing Speed Forge 3D on a 42-inch HDTV. When the mini-HDMI port isn't being used to output 720p video to a large HDTV, users rely on a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 320x480 resolution. Wi-Fi is built in, as is Bluetooth and a USB port. Standard 3.5mm headphones can be connected to the console and there is an audio input and output.

For $349, developers anywhere in the world get the device along with a debug board and a connector cable. Two batteries are also included for minimizing downtime, while a 2GB microSD card holds the Android OS, and an 8GB SDHC card is used for other content. Buyers also receive the necessary schematics and source code. [via SlashGear]
