Samsung to launch tablet PCs in 2010, more

Samsung will enter into a new product niche for the company in the new year with the introduction of tablet PCs, according to a Monday Current report. At the same time, the maker will also bring more 3D computing solutions, as well as integrate LED backlight technology into all of its PC monitors before the end of next year. Samsung Australia IT product marketing manager Emannuele Silanesu also revealed that the company is planning on releasing multi-touch monitors and notebooks.

These multi-touch products are said to be brought to market during the first quarter, but will initially feature only CCFL backlighting before moving on to LEDs later on.

While he stopped short of saying anything specific about 3D, Silanesu indicated NVIDIA is working on technology that is capable of converting 2D content into 3D content. Samsung may announce such technology in 2010.
