Interface based on TouchWiz
Several screenshots show Saumsung's upcoming bada OS for mobile phones. The interface is essentially an adaption of the company's current TouchWiz UI. Following in line with Android and LiMo, bada is an open platform that will allow developers to tweak and modify attributes of the software design.
Bada will necessitate a minimum 800x480 display resolution, while the interface will support multi-touch gestures. The screenshots appear to show an integrated social networking interface which places Twitter, MySpace and Facebook capabilities onto a single page for each contact.
The first bada phones will be launched in the first half of 2010, while analysts believe the platform will dominate Samsung's handset line-up by 2012. [via Unwired View]

Mock-Ups
The first thing that springs to mind when I look at these is "movie interface", the type of cheesy, superficial pseudo-advanced interfaces for devices you see in movies. The last shot in particular has severely insufficient empty space padding around each interface element, and looks like some crude mock-up. The music player in the middle shot is also extremely cheesy, and there are areas of poor contrast between the menu background design and the displayed text. It's certainly a step above WinMo, but these people need to hire some real graphic designers stat in positions of authority if they want this thing to compete against the iPhone and Android derivatives. And they need to keep these leaked mock-ups under wraps until they're refined enough to impress people.
