Amazon Kindle has best ever month
Amazon today touted that the Kindle has already had its best-ever month for sales in December. Although the month isn't yet finished, the retailer claims that holiday sales have already pushed sales to an unspecified but all-time high. Unlike previous years, the Kindle remains in stock and should meet demand.
To fuel sales, the company has also begun offering free two-day shipping for the regular 6-inch Kindle and promises that the deal will last until the 22nd for at least US buyers. The larger Kindle DX isn't affected.
Amazon's success contrasts sharply against the Nook, which will miss 2009 at retail and in many cases won't reach online pre-orders until January. Barnes & Noble has said it's happy with its as yet unknown numbers but is believed to be suffering chiefly from supply shortages more than high demand.

Is it possible that the Kindle is outselling
the iPhone and that's why the stock continues to climb? I swear that I've hardly seen anyone using a Kindle and yet so many are being sold. Well, I sure hope the Apple tablet can outsell the Kindle since many people say that the Kindle isn't really all that great. I think it is a useful device for strictly reading, but it does lack much of the stuff I would want in a tablet device. Amazon was very smart to get into the eReader before mostly everyone else and is walking away with easy money.
