Best Buy offering post-Christmas computer deals

Electronics retailer Best Buy on Tuesday announced it would offer end-of-season sales on computers. The two-day sale will begin online on Christmas Day, December 25th, with the same deals extending to stores on December 26th. The most significant deal involved the 10.1-inch Lenovo IdeaPad S10 netbook, at $197 versus the regular price of $300. The netbook gets the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270, 1GB of memory and a 160GB hard drive.

For those needing a larger and more functional notebook, the 17-inch Dell Studio will be priced at $700, representing an $80 savings. Its main specs include a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.
Gamers may be swayed by the 16-inch ASUS G60 notebook, which is $100 cheaper than its regular price, at $900. The particular trim level is powered by a 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo Intel CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive and NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 260M graphics with 1GB of dedicated RAM.

The sole desktop PC on sale will be the Acer AspireRevo 1600 nettop, priced at $280, or $60 less than regular. It ships with a 20-inch monitor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and its centerpiece NVIDIA Ion LE graphics chipset.

At the same time, from December 27th to January 2nd, Best Buy will offer two HP TouchSmart all-in-one desktops for $100 off, or $799 and $899, respectively. The former sports 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive, while the latter adds a larger 640GB hard drive and a TV tuner.

Finally, through mid-January, the retailer will continue to offer its signature "PC Home Makeover" bundle that includes an HP desktop PC, monitor, notebook, netbook, wireless router and Geek Squad network setup for $1,200.
