Update helps Palm catch iPhone, Android

Discoveries made in Palm's new webOS 1.3.5 firmware have revealed the platform's first support for 3D. Software packages for OpenGL ES graphics found in the code suggest that Palm's CES event will see the company introduce support for 3D games and titles for at least some phones. A previously leaked video (shown below) may have confirmed this as it shows a port of Need For Speed: Undercover running on a Pre.

Adding the support would address one of the single largest criticisms of webOS, whose dependence on its namesake web code has prevented it from running fully native apps and by extension ruled out 3D. A lack of games has left Palm lagging behind Android and the iPhone, both of whom count gaming as one of their largest app categories. [via PreCentral]

    26 Seconds to Load

I just watched the video, and that game took at least 26 seconds to load. They didn't start at the very beginning, so you may have to add another two or three seconds.

Is this compatible with iPhones and Android systems when playing 3D games?
