Dulin's Books intros Wi-Fi enabled 6-inch reader

Dulin's Books announced this week that it will soon ship its Boox 60, an e-book reader that has an integrated Wi-Fi connection and a WebKit-based browser. The browser will let users view news, blogs and wiki sites and download content for the reader. The 6-inch Vizplex display has touch capability using Wacom technology, and an included stylus helps users take notes.

The device is powered by a 532MHz CPU and has 512MB of built-in memory that can be expanded thanks to a microSDHC memory card slot. The screen can reproduce 16 shades of gray, while the 1,600mAh battery is said to last for more than 8,000 page turns. Supported file formats include EPUB, PDF, MOBI, HTML, TXT, PDB and CHM for reading. Adobe Digital Editions is the software that allows DRM EPUB and PDF support. Images that can viewed are JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF and TIFF formats. MP3s can be played back, and the device has text to speech capability as well.

The Boox 60 can now be ordered for $349, and international shipments will begin in mid-January.
