VIZIO to out range of Wireless HD products at CES

LCD HDTV maker VIZIO recently announced it will integrate Wireless HD technology into its products thanks to SiBEAM 60GHz chipsets. The technology will be built into the company's HDTVs, Blu-ray players and HDMI adapters. The company is also in the process of joining the WirelessHD association, which is required in order to incorporate the technology into its products. VIZIO and SiBEAM will show off the new LED-backlit HDTVs in the new XVT Pro lineup later this week at CES, with SiBEAM also having a Blu-ray player on hand.

When the products go on sale, they will be some of the first with the embedded WirelessHD connection. SiBEAM already provides its WirelessHD hardware to companies that include Best Buy, Gefen, LG, Monster, Panasonic and Sony. The company's technology is deemed unique in that it doesn't interfere with other wireless products and can send lossless 1080p at 4Gbps. The technology is also said to be impervious to any physical objects that get in the way.

While pricing or release dates for the WirelessHD VIZIO products are unknown, they will be out later this year.
