Pushes ISO to 3200, adds SDXC support

Continuing its CES-related announcements, Canon has revealed four new A-Series PowerShot cameras: the A490, A495, A3000 IS and the A3100 IS. The group has been enhanced in several ways, most notably with increased light sensitivity ranging up to ISO 3200. The cameras have also been made compatible with SDXC cards, which will store up to 2TB when the format launches ahead of March.

The A3000 and A3100 feature 4x zoom lenses with optical image stabilization, as well as 2.7-inch LCDs. The 3000 is rated at 10 megapixels, whereas the 3100 uses 12.1. A late February launch is planned, along with prices of $150 and $180.

The A490 and A495 will ship at roughly the same time, with costs of $110 and $130. Both cameras will have 10-megapixel sensors and 2.5-inch LCDs, with 3.3x zoom lenses missing image stabilization. The 490 drops special filter effects, namely Super Vivid and Poster.
